After a stunningly hot summer, it looks as if Autumn has arrived, but if your garden is anything like mine, the rain is very welcome. In spite of the hot weather, our Summer outdoor painting sessions have gone very well, with some excellent results as usual.
I’ve been busy organising the MPC painting exhibition for CAMAT and the quality of paintings being exhibited is very high. With 6 members offering a wide variety of paintings, prints and cards etc. for sale on tables alongside the main MPC exhibition, including me. We’re hoping it will be a stunning success with lots of visitors and lots of sales. Many thanks to those members who have volunteered to be stewards, we couldn’t do this without you. I hope that many more members will drop in to enjoy the exhibition at St Josephs. Parking is free, and coffee and tea will be available so you can chat with fellow members in a convivial environment. Don’t forget to save the dates – 12 th and 13 th September 10am to 6pm both days; the venue is St Joseph’s Church Hall (where the Watercolour class meets).
We have a new class! Following the very successful first ‘life class’, with a live model, enough members have expressed interest that we can schedule regular classes. Watch your email for more information. Our other classes are running at capacity, apart from the Portrait Group, and we have new members just waiting for their chance to join in.
I must make a mention of the workshop on collage on 13th April, which was every bit as messy and fun as expected! We will not forget the sight of dozens of large sheets of tissue paper spread over every surface, including the floor. We have lots of other workshops and demos in the planning stage for the rest of the year. Watch your email for more information or visit the Website which now has a dedicated Webmaster.
Wishing you a great rest of the year and looking forward to catching up soon.
