Watercolour Workshop with Linda Saul Saturday 14th November, St Joseph's Church Hall, from 10am to 3pm.
Linda Saul is a Berkshire artist and specialises in coastal and urban scenes using granulating watercolours and collage.
This workshop will be of a harbour scene for which participants will need to bring their own watercolours.
The paper to work on will need to be approximately A4 size, heavy watercolour paper - at least 300gsm (140lb) but no larger than A3.The surface texture of the paper is not critical, although Linda uses hot press i.e. smooth paper. If you prefer a rougher watercolour paper that is fine.
The anticipated cost per participant will be £20 if 20 members attend and £25 if 16 attend. In addition there will be a charge of £3 per participant to cover the following materials that Linda will supply:
> Sheets of Hosho paper for producing collage (2 sheets each). > Acrylic matt medium ( which will be your glue but is also important for other purposes). > Linda's stash of collage papers for people to use. > Some specific granulating paints that are good for texture effects. > Granulation medium. > White gouache. > Linda will provide heavyweight (300lb/640gsm) Saunders Waterford paper, approx 1/8 imperial (which is close to A4) for £2 each, (if you prefer not to bring your own paper).
Participants will need to bring -
> Watercolour paints > Paper to work on - see above > Brushes > Water container > Palette > Kitchen roll > A lightweight painting board > An apron
You are also welcome to bring other water-based materials such as watercolour sticks etc, and any collage materials you might want to use.

The Christmas Social this year will follow the same format as before - bring a plate of food for sharing, bring a couple of recent paintings to display on the walls, and the Club will provide a selection of drinks. Ideas for a touch of entertainment would be most welcome, and of course volunteers to help set up the furniture, help out in the kitchen, hang the paintings and clear away afterwards.
